thats impossible, people who make bots are technically minded enough to get around placements that any company puts in place.
do something that stops bots
a week later, they find a way around it
and it continues like that

They got called bots by those people and reported and never botted. Now they're banned. You be the judge. One of those same friends was called a bot for Pdraining SoA because he "cancel cast it 6 times"...as though you can't interrupt a 1s cast without a bot and as though wasting 30 energy on that doesn't make you an idiot. Some Frenchies in a match I was in called us bot users for pblocking their Ele to distract from the fact that their sins frenzied while being trained by Rt/As. There was also a rather prominent Ranger(doubt I can put a name here) who was banned (and then unbanned) and was never unbanned for "botting" because he was actually good and could anticipate. My fear is that it's become a crutch to let people be bad; instead of looking at what they did wrong, they blame bots that weren't really there.

DrunkardBot I can very easily understand, but ML seems like a poor premise to ban somebody for. It's not difficult to set up a virtual machine on your PC, install Guild Wars on it, and run that alongside another copy of Guild Wars outside of the VM, but where would (or do) they draw the line for what they would consider acceptable? Both instances generate the same effect but one is more tedious at the price of being less suspicious, and neither of them are harming anybody.

I would also like an official stance on the autoclicker, texmod and running multiple accounts of guild wars simultaneously.

I really hope I don't start seeing KSmod bans on accounts due to them using DLL injection detection... xD

They might not say, as in the blog post they mention not wanting to go into specifics of detection or bot criteria.
Play it safe and don't use anything.

What do you call 3700 bot accounts scythe banned by Dhuum?
... a good start.
I hope this isn't just a knee jerk reaction for some publicity, a band aid approach for the upcoming release of GW2... hopefully this will be ongoing.
As for extra support staff to detect and investigate bots, nice, hopefully some extra support staff to deal with all the people who will be inundating support with claims of being wrongly banned as well?
Yes, yes... many who have been justly banned will be pleading their innocence, they always do, but... that's no reason to be hard nosed about it, some innocent players are invariably caught up in such sweeps, and falsely banning one innocent player is unforgivable.
So yay for bot bans, hopefully those folks caught up in the bannings incorrectly will be dealt with fairly and have their accounts returned with a minimum of fuss (which has been my experience of support in the past).
Some clarification for users of 3rd party aps... KsMod, TexMod and MultiLaunch aps would be nice, also dual boxers I guess.

For those wondering about Drunkard Bots
"All of which bring us back to the beginning and to our strong enforcement of our policies against game abuse of any kind. Let me make this clear: We have no tolerance for using bots or hacks. It’s cheating, it harms other players, and there’s no excuse for it."
Do they harm other players? AFAIK, it's a clicker for a pve title which gives you no advantage over another player in the game.

To all the Luxon bots who helped me reach rank 12 Kurzick over the last year:

But seriously, devs, we really need to know if TexMod, GWx2 and other non-bot programs are still OK.

I would also like a clarification of the current stance on texmod, programs used to run multiple instances on a single PC, and automated mouse-click programs. The two former have been cleared for use in the past, while the latter skirts closer to the line.
Considering the crackdown, people are going to panic--it would help a lot if this issue was clarified promptly. Texmod is available for download on the Official Wiki itself, and, unlike some other games, Guild Wars is not able to open multiple clients on a single machine without some form of modification. Both of these are used quite innocuously. The mouse clicker is perhaps more questionable, although it's use is generally limited to simply saving the player from carpal tunnel (and in the case of Drunkard, from wasting alcohol) while working on titles.
Hoping for a quick reply <3

Drunkard autoclicker is a bot. Anything that automates input falls under their definition of a bot. It's in the UA and RoC. They have never said that botting drunkard is allowed, and if you read that, you were mistaken. It's still technically a rule violation.
